LIL MAMA’S NON-APOLOGY
If you didn’t catch the ever-so-exciting 2009 VMA’s last night on MTV, then you missed the part where Lil Mama jumped on stage with Jay-Z & Alicia Key’s during the song “Empire State of Mind” and tried to rock out with them. After that stunt, #Lilmamais was the number one trending topic on twitter for a good 24 hours. She later released a statement saying, ” I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys. I admire them and look up to them as role models. ‘Empire State of Mind’ had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up onstage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY.”
